"Hi."
"Hi."
"Good morning."
"Good morning."
"Had breakfast already?"
"Yup. You?"
"Nope."
"Oh. O.K."
"Rui Han. Are you the one I know?"
"Depends." She smiled. That must mean he wasn't sure if he was chatting with the right person.
"Depends on what?"
"Depends on the stuff you know about me."
"Oh, like your favorite color?"
"No, not that."
The next thing that happened, she was not ready for.
Tamamori Saionji. Video call.
She swore her heartbeat just went on full speed, just like that infected human in the I Am Legend movies. Yes, movies. There's a sequel now, right? She pressed the accept button.
"Hey."
He looked like he just got out of bed. His spiky hair tousled, and he was wearing a white undershirt. He may have been wearing pjs or shorts, but it wasn't obvious, since she could only see him from the chest up. She could see part of his room. It looked like his computer was situated in front of his window, because the sun's rays that were seeping through the blinds were reflecting on his face.
"Hey."
She almost blurted that out. Good thing she was able to stop herself.
"Well, actually, I already ate- remember?" She gave a sheepish grin.
"Oh, yes. Right." And a chuckle. "Uhm..." Then he tilted his head to the right and squinted his eyes, as if trying to place something, but all the while looking at her. It felt like she was being scanned- screened- or whatever.
"Yes?"
"It is you."
"Me, what?"
"The Rui Han I know."
"Oh. Hahaha. Yes, it's me."
"Good. I thought I added the wrong person. It would have been shameful."
"Yes, it would've been."
"So, what are you up to today?"
"I don't know. I was thinking of doing all my homework today, so I won't cram on Monday."
"Good plan. I think I should do the same, right?"
Oh, you're asking for my opinion now, eh? Can I die, like, right now?
"Yes, I think you should."
"Yeah, I should." He leaned backwards, and she saw that he was sitting on a black comfy swivel chair. Much like the same ones you see on corporate bosses' offices.
As far as she knows, he was the son of a rich family. Both his parents were rich. It would explain the fact that his room looked like a 5-star hotel suite. Well, based on what she saw through the webcam, anyway. Oh, and how he dresses for school on wash-days.
"Sooo... Don't you think you should at least start by eating breakfast? I doubt you'd get your homework done by lazing around." She grinned at him.
"Yeah. But I'm not sure I'm hungry yet. Orrrrr... am I bothering you?"
He suddenly sat up and moved forward, nearer to the camera, and raised an eyebrow. Her instincts should have been her moving away, instead she leaned towards the camera too.
"No, you're not bothering me." And she smiled.
"Good. Because I have plans doing my homework just yet. Maybe later. So, I'll just talk to you now."
It was her turn to raise her eyebrow. "But I am doing my homework."
"Uh- why are you online?"
"Ehhh- so? I just needed a little break."
"Yeah, right." And unexpectedly, he stuck his tongue out.
Kawaii!
Before she can answer him, someone came into his room and sat on his bed. "Hmmm...mom was wondering why you're not yet up. Breakfast's been ready since time immemorial. You're online this early? And hmmmm... with a girl."
She stared at the person talking. It was an older version of him, yet looked a little different.
"Shut up." Saionji gestured to the other person.
"Whoa! Come on." Then he casually stretched himself on his brother's bed.
"Move! Go away."
"No one's going to make me move, unless you hurry up and get your lazy ass off that chair and go down with me to breakfast. Otherwise mom's gonna be in here-in about 5 minutes if I don't drag your butt down."
"Okay, fine. Let me just wrap this up." He sounded annoyed, but he faced her and smiled. "Sorry. This is my elder brother, Sukkie-san. I don't believe you met him yet, and now that you did, you know what a pain in the ass he is."
"Really now?" Was the reply from the bed.
"Yes! But you're not the one I'm talking to. Please go away. Tell mom I'll be right down."
"Nu-uhh. I am supposed to be escorting you down, young master."
His face, so much like his younger brother, gave out an evil grin. Sukkie looked impish but cute at the same time. She couldn't help but smile at their banter.
"Hey, you know what? I think you'd better go down and have breakfast. I'm sure your mom would like that- I mean- all of you down for breakfast." She said.
"See? She even agrees." Then he got up from the bed and went to stand beside Saionji. He waved. "Oh, hello there. My little brother didn't mention your name. I'm Sukkie."
"Hi. I'm Rui Han." She smiled and waved back.
"Classmate?"
"No, schoolmate."
"Ohhh..." It was a meaningful oh.
"I'm a junior."
"Ahhh, sore wa sodesu. " He looked ever inch a Tamamori. She's seen their dad one time when he picked up Saionji from school. At that time, it looked like they were about to attend a party somewhere. "Oh yes, might as well introduce our other brother. Jiro." He was smiling.
"Jiro?"
"Yes. Our eldest brother. He's not here most of the time, but since we're doing introductions, it's better that we introduce everyone here, right?" He winked,
"Hahaha! Maybe? I don't know." She was laughing now. "But hey, didn't you say your mom's waiting for you downstairs? Better go now."
"Oh yes. I almost forgot. What with a beautiful lady in front of us..."
"Come on. Let's go." Saionji got up and started to push his brother away to the door. "Hey, talk to you later, okay?" He glanced at her and waved.
She waved back and just nodded.
"Hi."
"Good morning."

“Good morning.”
“Just woke up?” And a crooked smile.
It was so hard to look composed, what with her
heart beating fast. She couldn’t answer right away. Instead, she just smiled
and nodded her head.
“I see. Me too.” And a hand went up to run his fingers through his morning hair.
Damn.
Why so hot?
She almost blurted that out. Good thing she was able to stop herself.
